Hard work rewarded with success

September 2nd, 2010

Cottages New Zealand is proud to congratulate Mark Roil and Byron Roil for both successfully completing the EIT’s Carpentry Apprentice Programme.

They now only have to achieve the required number of hours to be recognized as fully qualified builders. The 4 year course ends when the apprentice has completed a minimum of 8000 hours of training.

EIT teaches all of the theory and handles the paperwork and assessments and Cottages New Zealand, as the employer, has provided all of the hands-on training. Byron has also been doing night classes this year, introduced to better suit busy full-time employees.

Course tutors commented on the high standard of work submitted by both Mark and Byron – great work!

There are great employment opportunities worldwide for trade qualified builders and Mark is planning to make the most of that fact, heading off overseas at the end of November. Just before he leaves our shores Mark is attending a Dale Carnegie course to help him on the right path towards a successful career in the building industry.
